Why choose an at-home pet sitter?

“Pet sitters do much more than provide a pet with food and water while their guardian is away from home.” A good pet sitter also spends quality time with the animal, gives them exercise and knows how to tell if they need veterinary attention. What's more, pet sitters typically offer additional services, such as taking in mail and newspapers and watering plants. But, just because someone calls themselves a pet sitter doesn't mean they're qualified to do the job.” www.humanesociety.org

Additionally, The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters has outlined below several benefits of using a professional in-home pet sitter on their website (www.petsitters.org).

“Using a professional pet sitter reaps benefits for both pets and pet parents. Once you experience professional pet care in your home, you'll never worry about being away from your pet again.”

Benefits For Pets:

Staying at home in his/her safe, secure environment

Being surrounded by familiar sights, smells and sounds

Following his/her regular diet and exercise routine

Having play time

Receiving love and personal attention

Maintaining medical treatment, when required

Having someone responsible in case of an emergency

Eliminating the trauma of travel or an unfamiliar environment

Helping to ensure good health (no exposure to other animals' illness or parasites)

Benefits For Pet Parents:

Knowing that your pet is in caring, loving hands

Having the confidence that the pet sitter can deal with other issues - such as grooming, vet visits

Eliminating the trauma of having to transport and leave your pet

Not having to impose on family, friends or neighbors

Feeling your home is more secure (with someone going in and out several times a day)

Not all pet sitters are created equal, nor are they all professional.  In hiring a pet sitter, it is important to make sure you have chosen the right person to care for your beloved animal.

How are services scheduled?

Prior to accepting new clients, I start with a Meet and Greet.  This is a free service that I provide for all my clients.  We will schedule a time for me to come to your home, so that we all can get to know each other better.  I want you and your pet to feel totally comfortable with me as your pet sitter.

If you would like to schedule my services after our Meet and Greet, you will be required to complete paperwork for you and your pet.  At that time, we will get you set-up in my pet sitting software and start scheduling your services. Anytime you need services in the future, you can request dates and times through the Time to Pet portal.  This assures you get the dates and times you need for your pet(s).  All requests have to be approved or denied by me, and you will receive a confirmation of your service schedule.
